LETTER FROM THE CHAIRPERSON
NABP Members and Friends,
Change has been a constant companion on our regulatory
journey over the past few years, and together, we've faced
its challenges and embraced its opportunities.

As the current NABP chairperson, I reflect
on our collective efforts to navigate the
dynamic health care landscape and how
those changes have impacted pharmacy
practice and patient safety. Of course, the
public health emergency presented by the
COVID-19 pandemic was a major source
of this change, and our adaptation to
that crisis showcases the resilience of
our profession and the crucial role we,
as regulators, play in public health.
In the spirit of such positive change,
I'm pleased to introduce the feature
story in this month's issue of Innovations.
The article centers on the growth of
pharmacist-administered vaccinations
since the pandemic and the pivotal role
pharmacists play in providing health care.
During my time as NABP president in
2022-2023, I led an initiative focused on
eliminating barriers to promote a new
pharmacy practice model. Pharmacistadministered
vaccinations are just one part
of that vision, and I hope that reading this
article inspires you to consider other ways
pharmacists can use their full expertise to
benefit communities all over the country.
This month's issue also sees the return of
Dale Atkinson as a contributing columnist.
Dale will be familiar to those of you who
are longtime readers of Innovations and its
predecessor, the NABP Newsletter. Dale's
columns are focused more on local and
state case studies that may have larger
ramifications or lessons for pharmacy
regulators throughout the country.
Looking ahead, I also want to share my
excitement for the upcoming 120th
NABP
Annual Meeting, which will be May 14-17,
2024, in Fort Worth, TX. Our theme,
" Driving Pharmacy Practice Evolution
Together, " underscores the transformative
journey we're on. I encourage you to mark
your calendars and join us as we continue
to shape the future of pharmacy practice,
and I look forward to seeing you there.
