THE THINK TANK The Mission The participants were then presented with their Mission. Part 1 Teams 1, 2, 3 Brainstorm the various BARRIERS that you see to the adoption and implementation of different technologies in the provisioning of meals to students Teams 4, 5, 6 Brainstorm the various DRIVERS that you see for the adoption and implementation of different technologies in the provisioning of meals to students Again...there are no bad ideas! Part 2 Refine your lists Identify each item as one of the following: C: Can be controlled by the organization I: Can only be influenced by the organization O: Or are out of control Part 3 c e f u Control Session 5 For each Controllable Barrier identify a strategy to mitigate or eliminate it. For each Controllable Driver identify a strategy to leverage or strengthen it. RESULTS Participants indicated multiple barriers and drivers surrounding the use of technology to enable meal provisions. They were asked to generate and list these ideas without considering the confines of an ability to control for them. From the lists of barriers and drivers identified, participants were then asked to identify the top controllable barriers (and ways to mitigate or eliminate these barriers), and the top controllable drivers (and ways to leverage or strengthen them). There were two top controllable barriers that emerged from the think tank: 1. the employees' knowledge of technology use and 2. education about the organization's vision. Participants also identified three top controllable drivers: 1. Data-driven decision-making; 2. replaceable systems; and 3. interoperability. Below are the results and an explanation of these findings. 114 l e O I o r c u n t n t f o n o l
