The past year has been a time of learning, challenge, and change. Throughout the
pandemic, as a society, we have learned that we can persevere despite significant
difficulty, call on our ingenuity to develop novel solutions, and successfully adapt to
and implement enormous change.
Our current challenge is to successfully carry those learnings forward with courage
and confidence. With the courage to embrace difference and change, knowing that it
is OK to keep what works and shed what does not. With the confidence to believe in
our decision-making capability and try new approaches as the environment evolves.

At NACUFs, we look forward to an exciting new year where, in executing our recently
approved strategy, we can apply what we have learned during the pandemic. We
are confident that by welcoming change, capturing our ingenuity and that of our
volunteers, and seeking to better understand the evolving environment, NACUFs will
be better positioned to deliver our members and customers unquestionable value,
and unparalleled leadership and professional development opportunities.
To better support and promote excellence in collegiate dining, we will continually
improve NACUFs' value proposition. We intend to do this by placing strategic
importance on our learning and professional development program, member
engagement, inclusion, and our communications and public relations programs.
Regarding our learning program, quite simply, our goal is to become the essential
source for learning and development within the collegiate foodservice industry. To do
so, we will work with the NACUFs learning committee and other thought leaders to
develop a comprehensive, sought-after, world-class learning program that provides a
consistent brand experience. This effort will include creating more advanced learning
opportunities for foodservice leaders.
We intend to design a broader array of valuable member engagement opportunities
taking into consideration the demands placed on members' time, thereby enhancing
membership value. Concurrently, we will work to create a vibrant and inclusive
culture that inspires engagement.
Consistent with and in support of our core values, we will recommit to being
an inclusive organization that provides attractive programming and welcoming
opportunities for all in the collegiate foodservice profession, notwithstanding the
operational structure at one's institution. This effort will start with a review to ensure
that NACUFs policies are optimized for greater diversity and inclusion.
Finally, we look to strengthen our communications program to enhance value and
help create a more inclusive NACUFs community from which all in the sector can
benefit. Our revamped efforts will be designed to better position NACUFs as a
resource throughout the collegiate foodservice and administrative ranks. Further,
they will equip the association to better understand the needs of our members and
the profession at large.
In the end, for NACUFs, it is all about creating an amazing experience for our
members and those we serve. It is about being committed to continual improvement
and exceeding customer expectations. It is about moving forward with the courage
and confidence it takes to try new things, to innovate, and to lead.
