management gets a more complete, organized log data
which can be very valuable if the food safety practices
are ever called into question. Anyone who has dealt with
attorneys and official records knows how important it is
that those records are clear and complete. if questions are
asked such as " did your employee forget to initial or sign
the log entry? " or " maybe your employee forgot to date
their entry? " these simple omissions can open the door to
questions about the overall validity of the log information.
if one doesn't know when something was recorded or
who filled it out, then why should one believe any other
information in the log? With the digital system all of this
information is clearly recorded automatically. not just a
majority of the time, but every time a measurement is
recorded. these complete records provide a better picture
of the operation and are a more useful tool if you end up in
an incident investigation situation.
going paperless with a digital system has sustainability
advantages as well. the obvious is its positive
environmental impact as well as the ability to provide
records that are much easier to store and locate needed
information. Environmental impact on the landfill is an
increasingly important factor with customers, employees,
and our greater Montana community. Many people like to
see sustainable environmental practices and factor that
into their decision process about where to work or spend
their money. Environmental factors aside, moving to this
new system provides real advantages over the old paper
logs when it comes to record searches and storage. the
most complete logs in the world will be of little help if you
can't find the information you need, when you need it.
Overall, the digital logging system is proving to be easier
to use than traditional monitoring logs and provides better
records. the digital system is environmentally friendly
and provides records that are easy to store, locate, and
navigate when needed. there are many products on the
market that promise improvements over the old system
in multiple areas. the systems we have been working with
appear to deliver on this promise.
