THE TRAINING RESOURCES
NACUFS understands the importance of
having the entire team trained and ready
to communicate the goals of any new
program initiatives. That's why the NACUFS
Sustainability Toolkit contains valuable
training resources that will allow operators
and their teams to communicate the
importance of sustainability for the entire
operation.
THE SUSTAINABILITY
ASSESSMENT TOOL
Because measuring progress in sustainability
is just as important as understanding the why
behind any sustainability efforts, NACUFS
included the Sustainability Assessment
Tool with the purchase of the guide. The
Sustainability Assessment Tool rates operation
on overall sustainability and the 10 key
sustainability issues identified in the NACUFS
Collegiate Foodservice Sustainability Guide.
The tool can also estimate sustainability impact
on menu, service, waste, and purchasing
data. The assessment tool is an interactive
spreadsheet that will estimate the institutions'
total sustainability impact, monitors progress,
tracks progress year-over-year, and helps
guide decisions on sustainability priorities
and next steps.
THE TRAINING
RESOURCES INCLUDE:
NACUFS Collegiate Foodservice
Sustainability Guide Lesson Plans provide
step-by-step instruction for foodservice
directors to train their teams on the 10
major sustainability issues highlighted in the
sustainability guide. Whether operators want
to train their team in several longer sessions,
or add quick bites of information to a daily
pre-shift meeting, this resource has training
plans that will work for any operation.
NACUFS Train the Trainer Program provides
introductory lessons on adult learning.
This program can be completed on its
own to equip foodservice operators with a
methodology, or it can be used to prepare
a team to deliver the NACUFS Collegiate
Foodservice Sustainability Guide Lesson
Plans. This resource is also available to
NACUFS members in a standalone format as
a no-cost member benefit!
