SPINNING THE FLAVOR DIAL
By understanding the variety of water impurities and their effects
on flavor, you can identify the mineral composition of your tap water
and adjust accordingly. It is wholly possible to discern any issue with
your tap water by fine-tuning your senses for the flavor of your water.
The spokes of the water wheel image can help; it depicts the sensory
dimensions and a real reference of flavor for water to train your palate.
For example, an imbalance of sodium causes water to taste sweet
or salty; microscopic organic material imbues a musty odor; and the
presence of sulphate can create a chalky feeling in your mouth. Baking
or brewing with water like this will certainly affect the flavor profile.
Instead, optimize your tap water and craft the right water composition.
THE GOALS
OF WATER
FILTRATION
1. Achieve the ideal mineral composition.
2. Remove chlorine and particles.
3. Reduce carbonate hardness.
4. Lower maintenance and energy costs.
5. Minimize machine downtime.
