The NACUFS 2023 National Conference
in Baltimore brought together the
brightest minds, innovators, and
professionals in higher education
foodservice. From the moment we
kicked off the conference, there was
an undeniable energy that permeated
the entire event. The enthusiasm and
passion displayed by everyone at the
event made it clear that the NACUFS
community is truly remarkable. It was
a pleasure to see everyone together,
sharing knowledge, forging connections,
and collectively growing within the
collegiate dining industry.
One of the highlights of the conference
was the opportunity to learn from an
exceptional lineup of speakers. Their
thought-provoking presentations not
only challenged perspectives but also
ignited a renewed sense of purpose and
ambition. The discussions that followed
these sessions were enlightening and
served as a catalyst for transformative
ideas and actions. It was truly inspiring
to witness the collective drive for
improvement and excellence.
Additionally, the numerous learning
sessions and roundtables provided a
platform for attendees to engage in
focused conversations on a wide array
of topics. Whether it was discussing
sustainable practices, implementing
innovative technologies, or addressing
the evolving dietary needs of our
diverse student populations, these
sessions fostered a wealth of knowledge
exchange and generated actionable
strategies to implement at your
institutions. The level of expertise and
passion displayed by the presenters was
exceptional, and I am confident that the
insights gained will have a profound
impact on collegiate dining.
Beyond the educational aspects, the
conference was a celebration of the
connections we built, the relationships
we nurtured, and 65 years of NACUFS.
The networking opportunities allowed

attendees to interact with like-minded
professionals, forge new partnerships,
and establish friendships that will endure
beyond the conference. The camaraderie
and support within our community are truly
unparalleled, and I was delighted to witness
the spirit of collaboration and mentorship
that was omnipresent throughout the event.
In looking to the future of NACUFS, the
changes created by the vote that took place
at the General Membership Assembly will
immediately begin impacting NACUFS.
As NACUFS works to be a more inclusive
organization, these changes symbolize
a focus on the future, ensuring NACUFS'
continued relevance.
As we move forward, I encourage each
of you to leverage the knowledge gained
and the connections established at the
conference. Let us continue to push the
boundaries of excellence in our industry and
raise the bar for campus dining experiences
across the nation. remember, the impact
we have on the lives of students extends far
beyond the meals we serve. We have the
power to create welcoming environments
that foster growth, well-being, and success.
I would also like to express my deepest
appreciation to our sponsors, exhibitors,
volunteers, and the entire NACUFS
team who worked tirelessly to make this
conference a resounding success. Your
dedication, commitment, and passion are
the driving forces behind our organization,
and we are immensely grateful for your
contributions.
2023 will continue with many more
opportunities to engage with your NACUFS
membership; year-round value is what
we continue to build. I hope you'll remain
involved and utilize NACUFS' virtual
learning and networking opportunities. I
look forward to seeing you next year at
the Spring Conference Series and at the
NACUFS 2024 National Conference in
Louisville, but until then, hopefully I'll see
