70 years of history of ideas and business trends, interaction with friends, peers and
business associates. 70 years of knowledge moving forward into the future. Hopefully.
70 more years of the cooling system business moving forward with new directions,
ideas, and people involved in a passion for NARSA!
Most of my friends know my family's history with the cooling system business. Even
though it is segmented, I am fourth generation, my children fifth generation, and
four great nephews that are sixth generation. Betty and I opened our business in
1985- 40 years ago. I should have gotten involved with NARSA sooner! We really
never had much growth until we got involved with NARSA and made friends with
other like-minded people. I have had lots of encouragement to step out and try a new
direction in business. Some failures chalked off to a learning curve, but there were
many more successes that I will never regret and have helped our company grow to a
point I never saw or thought possible. It has truly been an adventure and journey!

Narsa's 70th anniversary just
reinforces how unique an
organization NARSA truly is. A
70 year tradition of helping each
other navigate and thrive through
constantly changing markets. There is
no other organization like it.

NARSA President (2020-2022)

I entered this industry following
18 years of being a diesel mechanic
and inherited a NARSA membership
with the purchase of Radiator Service
Company in 1994... the 40th anniversary
year of NARSA. The founder of Radiator
Service Company was not with us very
long but insisted that we stay involved
with NARSA and that between the
friendships we would develop and The
Cooling Journal we would absorb the
knowledge necessary to be successful
in this industry. We followed his
instructions. Our experience during
the last 30 years has shown us that
the limitless dividends available from
NARSA were directly proportional
to our willingness to give back to the
membership. Even though retirement
is 48 calendar days away from this
writing, my wife Jeanne and I intend on
continuing to support NARSA and its
members. We will be forever grateful
and know that no way would we be
where we are today in this industry
without being NARSA members. May
this 70-year milestone be a celebration
of our shared achievements and a
beacon for future generations to
continue building upon. Here's to many
years of growth and camaraderie!
David Bienvenu
NARSA President (2016-2018)
Radiator Services of Houma (Houma,
Louisiana)
I am very pleased that NARSA has reached this milestone. This was only possible due
to the dedicated volunteers that provided their time and talents to the success of the
organization through 70 years. I believe that we were able to grow and change with
the times. The most important changes were made in the 90s when, through the
efforts of the " Associate Membership, " we convinced the Board of Directors to change
the by-laws to permit the employees of the manufacturer membership, to first be
able to hold a seat on the Board of Directors, followed later that it was possible for the
manufacturer membership to hold a National Office. The continued success of NARSA
was greatly influenced by the service of manufacturer employees that served as
National Officers, some as National President and Chairman of the Board.
I know that my personal association with NARSA was a major part of my success
over 30 years in the Cooling and Heating industry, both with FEDCO in Buffalo, NY
and the past seventeen years with Johnson Mfg Co. The friendships and business
relationships that I was able to make were responsible for the success and sales
within the industry that were the fruit of my volunteer efforts over the last thirty
years of my career. I wish many more years of continued success for NARSA. I am
extremely grateful to all of my NARSA Friends and business associates that made
these years fun as well as successful.
Patrick O'Connor
NARSA President (2012-2014)

NARSA has been around to watch four generations of our family business over the
last 70 years. This association has been a focal point of our company, and I can't
imagine where we would be without the knowledge, friendships, and connections
that we have made along the way. I look forward to seeing what the next 70
years looks like for NARSA and all of the amazing men and women who make this
association special.
