EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
2024 in Review & Passing the Torch
to a New Team
THIS WILL BE THE FINAL ARTICLE that
I write for the Cooling Journal. As you
all know, I attempted to retire last year
but for unforeseen reasons, this did not
work out. Once again, Sandy and I fi nd
ourselves at the end of our service to
NARSA. Even though we will be leaving,
I would like to take this opportunity to
review 2024.
This year was NARSA'S 70th birthday, and
I think it was a fabulous year! It is one that
the members and the Board of Directors
should be very proud of. We started 2024
off with the Board of Directors annual
planning session which was held in Atlanta.
During this planning session, the Board of
Directors along with the staff outlined the
course of action moving forward that will
accomplish the goals of the association.
DPF Training Event & Tour in Pennsylvania
After our planning session in January,
we held our fi rst standalone DPF training
seminar in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Thanks to Jim Drespling and his wife
Lynda along with their staff , we were able
to off er a 2-day training session which
included a tour of Skyline Emissions.
Along with thanking Jim and his crew, I
would also like to thank the management
of Skyline. Without our members
volunteering their time and talents, it
would not be possible for us to accomplish
our mission.
2024 Heavy-Duty Conference in Chicago
After the DPF meeting in April of this
year, we packed up and headed to
Chicago at the beginning of June for our
annual heavy duty spring conference.
Thanks to Brian P. Cahill and the rest of
the team at DRC Heat Transfer, we were
able to off er one of the best conferences
of my tenure. The programming at the
hotel along with the tours of DRC Heat
Transfer and AMADA, all contributed
to making this one of our best spring
conferences ever. Once again, thank
you to our hosts who put so much

work into opening their doors for
NARSA members.
2024 International Tour in Poland
This past September, a group of 29
people traveled to Poland to participate
in the 2024 NARSA international tour. The
group started in Krakow and toured Valeo
and BSPL before proceeding to Seco
Warwick's facility in the northern part
of Poland. Thank you to all of our hosts
in Poland.
AAPEX 2024 & Member
Appreciation Reception
The last event of the regular season
is always AAPEX. As usual, the golf
tournament and member appreciation
reception are met with enthusiasm by
our members. With the NARSA heating
and cooling section sold out all of the
attendees to AAPEX had the opportunity
to view cooling system, and emission
products manufactured around the world.
The mission of NARSA/IDEA is to create
One Idea, One Opportunity, and One
Connection for its members.
This has been an industry that I have been
involved with for 43 years. I started in 1981
and will be fi nishing at the end of 2024. As
