Langner,
65,
passed away in
Mission Viejo,
California, on
Oct. 24, 2014,
with
friends
and family beside him, after
bravely
battling cancer for
a number of
Bradley Richard Langner.

He was born in Sacramento, California, to Gladys Hill Bradley and Richard
Bohannon Langner who preceded him in
death. Growing up in the Meadow Vista
and Auburn, California areas, he graduated from Placer High School and went
on to become a prominent and active
local business owner in the surveying,
construction and commercial explosives
industries.
Brad loved travel - anywhere - and
generously treated family and friends to
exotic trips to Hawaii, Europe, Australia
and Africa. He loved to meet new people
and share life stories, especially over fine
wines and exquisite meals. He also loved
hiking, running marathons and hunting.
Brad is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Claudia Langner, with whom
he enjoyed traveling the world, discovering and sharing "the best of the best."
He will be greatly missed by his children,
grandchildren, extended family, friends,

colleagues and acquaintances for his
intelligence, humor and passion for life
as well as his outspoken nature and
limitless pursuit of correcting the many
wrongs he saw in the world.
A celebration of Brad's life was held
Dec. 13, 2014, at the Winchester Country Club, in Meadow Vista, California.

member
of

Chapter
of
ISEE serving as the second vice president and third president. With his help,
the chapter built an ongoing relationship with all of the fire departments in
the Kansas City metro area and began
the chapter's blasters training programs.
Maurice was a blaster for Reno Construction and later became a quarry suThe Journal of Explosives Engineering
perintendent at Edgerton Quarry.
Maurice was born October 14, 1953
in Portsmouth, Virginia to Gaylen Vern
and Roberta Joan (Frank) Taylor. He grew
up in Gardner and was a graduate of
Gardner High School in 1971, and then
attended Fort Hays State College with
an emphasis on broadcasting. Maurice
served in the United States Army. He
moved to Edgerton in 1975. He served
as the Mayor of Edgerton for nine
years and was a member of the Johnson County Council of Mayors. Maurice
was a scuba diving instructor and dive
master at Midwest Aquatics in Overland
Park. He participated in Biking Across
Kansas, MS150 and enjoyed snow skiing
and hunting. He will be dearly missed by
family and friends.

"Frankie" Cross of the home; his parents of Gardner, Kansas; children, Zachary and wife Michelle Taylor of Shawnee, Kansas and Christy Taylor and
Scott Farkus of Twin Falls, Idaho; sister,
Mary Ann and husband Robert Mann
of Bonn, Germany; niece, Alexandria
Mann; nephew, Scott Mann; step-children, Dustin Cross and Kati Robertson;
four step-grandchildren, Tucker, Abby,
Brice, Baylee and first wife, Joan Taylor
of Gardner, Kansas.
A memorial service was held Oct.23,
2014, at Edgerton United Methodist
Church. Memorial contributions may be
