The explosives industry continues, by all measures, to be
one of the nation's safest. The ISEE credits this success to the
professional relationship shared between explosives users,
manufacturers, transporters and regulators. For this reason,
the ISEE hosts the Industry Panel Discussion at the Annual Conference. The conversation is geared to not only bring industry
updates to members, but also create a forum where explosives
experts can communicate issues and concerns. Join us Sunday, Feb. 1, from 10 - 11:30 a.m. as ISEE features both state

and federal regulators, independent blasters and
industry academics in discussing
blast fume mitigation. The panel
will
introduce
the most recent
topics concerning
blasters
globally as well
as research and
best
practices
in preventing potentially harmful
fumes. Several
panelists include
David
Vande
Linde, West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection;
Doug Emme, Wyoming Department of Environmental Land
Quality Division; Ken Eltschlager, Office of Surface Mining;
and Alastair Torrance, Kilmorie Consulting and ISEE Board of
Director. The conversation will address current public perspectives regarding safety and the best procedures and techniques
in keeping employees free from exposure. The discussion begins with expert presentations and will include a moderated
question and answer session. Conference attendees will not
