Instantel and Nitro Consult
Integrate Instruments and
Software

Ottawa, ON, CANADA – Instantel,
manufacturer of the world’s
most trusted vibration and overpressure monitors, is pleased to
announce that their instruments
are compatible with Nitro Consult’s web-based blast-management system, NCVIB. With a
hard-earned reputation for quality and service across the globe,
Instantel integrated with NCVIBs practical data management
for urban construction projects. By offering their respective instruments, software and
expertise in an integrated manner, Instantel and Nitro Consult
aim to make the difficult task of
safety and environmentally challenging construction as easy as
possible for contractors and all stakeholders to achieve. Instantel’s ability
to locally service and calibrate their
instruments through an international
network of dealers and calibration
centers, further enhances this integration.
“Our agreement is informal,” says
Donald Jonson, president and CEO of
Nitro Consult, a subsidiary of Orica
Mining Services. “Nevertheless, it is
a serious, active agreement made between senior executives of the two
companies,” he says. “Our aim is to
combine and leverage each other’s
competence to provide our customers
with even more superior blast-control
technology and methodology.”
The Instantel vibration and overpressure monitor gathers data with
sensors such as microphones, geophones, accelerometers and hydrophones. This data can be sent directly
to the NCVIB server instantly and
wirelessly. The NCVIB system is then
used to evaluate, compare and analyze
events such as vibration, air blast, and

sion in relation to the instantaneous
charge weights used in the blast. It
can then convert this information into
several useful, often executable data
formats including, for example, a safer
(or more productive) calculated MIC
weight for the next round.
“Instantel has always been at the
forefront of remote data acquisition,”
says Ron Mask, Sales Manager at Instantel, a division of Stanley Black &
Decker. “This new relationship, integrating our monitors with Nitro Consult’s NCVIB, will further enhance our
product offerings to our customers.”

Konvels offers products of the
world leaders in the manufacture of
process automation - Thermo Fisher
Scientific, Kurz Instruments, Optech,
