and chief customer officer, Pratt & Whitney; Chaker Chahrour, vice
president and general manager, GE Aviation; Simon Goodson, senior
vice president - lessors, Rolls-Royce, plc; and Gaël Méheust, president
and chief executive officer, CFM International.
Kicking off the year in style, ISTAT members gathered en masse
for the 35th installment of ISTAT Americas for several days of the
types of networking, education and relationship building that are
cornerstones of ISTAT events. This year, a record-setting 2,000-plus
delegates attended the long-running event to commemorate three
and a half decades of ISTAT history.
As was mentioned numerous times throughout the event in
presentations, panel discussions and informal conversations, the
current industry outlook is filled with optimism, and there was
plenty of positivity to go around.
The earliest arriving attendees were greeted with a welcome
happy hour gathering on the evening of 3 March. The event officially
started the following day on 4 March with the ISTAT Foundation
Golf Tournament and ISTAT Foundation Sailing Trip - in addition
to the ISTAT Appraiser Business Meeting and Continuing Education,
Appraising 101, the NewGen Event, the President's Reception and
the Welcome Reception where members gathered for food, drinks
and fellowship.
The next morning, 5 March, kicked off two days of presentations
and panel discussions. There were also regularly scheduled networking
opportunities in the agenda, as well as numerous areas designated
for onsite meetings, which this year included The Hub, The Deal Zone,
Jet Fuel Café, ISTAT Bistro, and reservation-only meeting rooms.
