After welcome messages and preliminaries, Dómhnal Slattery,
chief executive officer, Avolon, took to the stage for the event's first
keynote and touched on the growing importance and availability of
big data as a market force.
Next up, the ever-popular Boeing and Airbus session saw Jeff
Knittel, chairman and chief executive officer, Airbus Americas, and
Randy Tinseth, vice president of marketing, Boeing Commercial
Airplanes, providing a snapshot of the market from the purview of
the two manufacturers. Tinseth commented on Boeing's "healthy
order intake," and Knittel observed the parallels between the growth
of ISTAT and Airbus during the past 35 years.
After a morning break, sessions reconvened for the Thrust Panel,
during which Rick Deurloo, senior vice president, customers and
chief customer officer, Pratt & Whitney, observed that "What excites
customers in this industry is technology and new options."
Following a break for lunch and networking meetings, ISTAT
Appraisers' Program (IAP) Chair Bryson Monteleone, senior external
consultant, PwC | Aviation Finance Advisory Services, introduced
new IAP Executive Director Jeff Straebler and briefly discussed
upcoming changes to the IAP (see article on p44) before convening
the Appraiser Panel for an entertaining The Price is Right-themed

Network Airline Panel, moderated by Damon D'Agostino, principal,
Maverick Aviation Ventures; Heather Wilson, director of treasury,
Westjet Airlines, Ltd.; Andrew Levy, then-executive vice president and
CFO, United Airlines, Inc.; and Jude Bricker, chief executive officer,
Sun Country Airlines.

Leverage Panel, moderated by Pamela S. Hendry, advisory board
member, Hudson Structured; John Beekman, analyst, Fidelity
Investments; Justine Fisher, vice president, Goldman Sachs;
Patrick Kaufer, managing director, Deutsche Bank; Bob Morin,
transaction and business development leader, AFIC; and
Timothy Myers, president, Boeing Capital Corporation.

New Equity Panel, moderated by Radha Tilton, managing director,
Goldman Sachs; Tom Baker, senior vice president - strategy &
analytics, Aviation Capital Group; Robert Korn, president, Apollo
Aviation Group; Ryan McKenna, vice president, Air Lease Corporation;
