participated in the afternoon flying display. The same applied to a brand-new
Boeing 737 MAX 7 in Boeing's factory livery. This was the MAX 7's airshow debut,
following the MAX 8 and MAX 9 variants
that Boeing showed during Farnborough
2016 and Paris 2017, respectively.
Participating in the static display only
were an Air Italy MAX 8, a Qatar 777-300ER
and two Boeing 747-8 Freighters in the
so-called "Cargo Village." The two large
freighters were painted, separately, in
CargoLogicAir and Qatar Cargo liveries.
And once more, the giant Boeing freighters were parked alongside an even bigger
Volga Dnepr Antonov 124-100.
Never to be outdone by its American
rival, Airbus presented the new Airbus
A330-900neo, as well as an A350-1000XWB,
with both participating in the flying display. Another "Airbus" demonstrating
its skills was the Airbus A220-300, previously known as the Bombardier CS300.
The blue Airbus livery looked good on the
small jet and apparently convinced a few
airlines to place significant orders. Other
Airbus jets in the static park included an
A330-900neo in TAP Portugal colors and a
Qatar A350-1000XWB.
Embraer continued the theme of "Profit
Hunters" it started a year ago. After an
Embraer E195-E2 with a cockpit section
painted to resemble an Eagle in Paris 2017,
and an E190-E2 in tiger livery aimed at
the Asian market, a shark-themed Embraer
190-E2 made a big impression on the

Farnborough crowd. While not confirmed,
one can imagine that the shark-themed
plane will apply hugely to the aircraft
lessor community.
Other regional aircraft included the
Mitsubishi MRJ90 - participating in the
flying display for the first time ever -
and a Bombardier CRJ900 in Delta Airlines
livery, featuring the new and more-comfortable Atmosphere cabin, remained
on the ground in the static display. The
Sukhoi Superjet unfortunately was absent
this year. Regional turboprops included
a "pretty in pink" ATR42-600 in the livery of Silver Airways and an Ethiopian
Bombardier Q400.
