ISTAT's 2017 Events

Aviation professionals are always looking years ahead for business expansion, professional growth and industry fluctuations. Each year,
ISTAT's multiple events provide members ample opportunities to connect with key industry figures, learn essential information from
experts in the field and foster long-term relationships.
Jetrader has the inside scoop on ISTAT's key 2017 events: ISTAT Americas, ISTAT Asia, ISTAT EMEA and ISTAT Latin America Forum.

ISTAT AMERICAS
5-7 MARCH 2017, HILTON SAN DIEGO BAYFRONT, SAN DIEGO, CA, USA
ISTAT Americas returns in early 2017 to San Diego. Kostya Zolotusky, managing director of
capital markets and leasing for Boeing Capital Corporation, is the chairman of the event,
and he detailed an extensive planning process behind ISTAT Americas.
"With ISTAT's current scale, rapid growth and industry relevance, planning for ISTAT
Americas began over two years ago," Zolotusky said. "The success and the feedback
from members about the ISTAT Americas event we held in San Diego in 2014 inspired
the board to return to San Diego for the 2017 event and to lock in a great location on
the waterfront."
Among the tried-and-true golf tournament and cocktail receptions, Zolotusky promises
new recreational events. Among those are the American debut of the cycling event that
was held at ISTAT Europe for networking and enjoyment (read pages 14-15 for more on that
event), a morning jog and a less formal, tapas-centric dinner.
Zolotusky also says ISTAT Americas is "a vital forum for understanding global market sentiments
and for establishing strategies that reflect market realities," especially considering the industry's
seven-year trend of above-traffic growth.
"While ISTAT and the aviation industry have evolved over the years, one thing has not changed; trust and relationships are the
foundation of everything we do and vital to every deal," he said. "There is no better way to build both than to attend ISTAT Americas.
ISTAT is by the industry, for the industry."

ISTAT ASIA
9-11 MAY 2017, GRAND HYATT HONG KONG
ISTAT Asia is ISTAT's fastest-growing event, with significant growth in attendees each of the
past three years. After a successful event in Tokyo this year, ISTAT Asia returns to Hong Kong.
"ISTAT Asia is a great opportunity to network and build relationships with senior executives
from across the global aviation industry," said SMBC Aviation Capital's David Swan, one of
the two co-chairs for ISTAT Asia 2017. DVB Bank SE's Marilyn Gan, the first Asian ISTAT board
member and the second co-chair, believes that ISTAT Asia's relatively smaller size (c.700
attendees) compared to Americas (c.1,700) and EMEA (c.1,300) allows members to meet with
each other in a more relaxed environment.
"For Americas and EMEA, you really have to make your appointments upfront to be able to
meet the people you want to meet," Gan said. "ISTAT Asia is regionally focused and relatively
informal so that attendees can meet the people they want in a relaxed environment."
While Asia may be smaller than Americas and EMEA, the event has introduced some ISTAT events
mainstays. The ISTAT Appraiser 101 session debuted at ISTAT Asia, and having a less formal Networking
