ISTAT member companies.
The Education Committee has also made
progress in the development of ISTAT U 3.0,
a continuing education program that will
be made available to the ISTAT membership. We expect the launch of this program
sometime in 2019.
Thank you to Murrae Ross-Eskell and
Damon D'Agostino for their hard work
and development of the Foundation's
education efforts.

Grants
The Grants Committee has expanded their
giving to various aviation-related museums, universities and youth organizations.
A total of $115,000 in grant funding was
awarded to 12 non-profit organizations in
2018. In addition to our grants efforts, the
Careers in Aviation Program continues to
improve and expand the video series aiming
to inspire young people to enter our industry. Several of our ISTAT member companies
have been involved in the production of
these videos. The videos are available at
www.istat.org/careersinaviation. Thank you

and Careers in Aviation Committee SubChair Eddo Weijer, for their contributions
to the programs.

Humanitarian
The Humanitarian Committee had a
successful year in awarding a total of
$95,000 to 13 aviation-focused charities worldwide. This includes a generous grant of $33,000 to the World Food
Program - USA to fund the coordination
of aircraft food drops in South Sudan.
This was a shining moment for the entire
ISTAT Foundation family, and all of our
members should be proud of the efforts
of our Humanitarian Committee.
Through the Humanitarian Committee,
the ISTAT Foundation continues to provide
significant support Airlink - a critical
link between the aviation industry and
NGOs around the world that are providing needed support in disaster areas. It
is important to remember that Airlink was
founded by the ISTAT Foundation, and we
are proud to continue our major support of
this incredible charity.
Humanitarian Committee Chair Julian
Balaam is nearing the end of his term and

will be leaving the ISTAT Foundation Board
of Trustees in March. Along with all of the
former chairs of the ISTAT Foundation that
Julian has worked with, I thank Julian for
his tireless work in not only starting the
Humanitarian Committee but also expanding and developing it into what it is today.
Well done, Julian.
Lastly, I would like to send appreciation to my fellow ISTAT Foundation
trustees. The trustees spend a great deal
of time and energy on all of the activities of the ISTAT Foundation, and you
should be very proud of their hard work.
I would like to give a special thank you
to ISTAT Foundation Vice Chairman Damon
D'Agostino, without whom I would not be
able to carry out my responsibilities as
foundation chairman.
