Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT). ISTAT was
founded in 1983 to act as a forum and to promote improved

Dear members,
Wow! Now that was a world-class ISTAT conference! The ISTAT Americas 2013,
30th Americas Conference in Orlando, Fla., was a resounding success by all accounts.
ISTAT saw a record attendance of more than 1,500 members, and, despite a little
rain on Tuesday, the weather couldn’t have cooperated better. I’m sure you will
join me in a high ﬁve to the conference committee, Doug Runte, Dan Pietrzak
and Marc Allinson, as well as to all of the sponsors that made the conference
such a great event.
Now that I am starting my term as your new president, I would ﬁrst like to
thank our Immediate Past President Joe Ozimek for his hard work and dedication
to ISTAT during his term. I am sure that all of our members will join me in a big
thank you to Joe. I look forward to working with him and the rest of the ISTAT
board as well as ISTAT Foundation Board Chairman Todd Freeman and the rest of the
ISTAT Foundation trustees to continue making this a valuable organization for you.
We ﬁnd ourselves growing at a record pace with membership now crossing the
3,000 mark. This growth presents challenges and opportunities for the leaders of
ISTAT for the improvement and expansion of member services and for the activities
of the ISTAT Foundation. The board is hard at work to address these challenges
and to ensure that ISTAT continues to improve for the beneﬁt of the members.
We are looking forward to the ISTAT Asia conference at the ANA Intercontinental
Hotel in Tokyo, Japan, on 12-14 May. Our Asia conference committee (Steve Townend,
David Swan and Tony Diaz) has put together a ﬁrst-class program, and we urge you
to register for this conference and join us for some good networking and maybe
some karaoke as well!
We are also looking forward to the Paris Air Show. Member activities include
the “must-attend” ISTAT Air Show Reception on 17 June at the Palais Brongniart
in the heart of Paris as well as the ISTAT Paris Air Show Chalet at Le Bourget,
offering a home for ISTAT members at the air show as well as awesome views of
the ﬂight displays…and ice cream.
It is truly an exciting time to be a member of ISTAT, and rest assured that
your board is working hard to continue to enhance your member experience at all
of the ISTAT events. After such a successful conference in Orlando, this may seem
difﬁcult to top, but that is exactly what we are striving for.
Thanks for supporting your organization. We look forward to seeing you soon
at the next event.
