Product description: Made from Angus beef raised without the use
of antibiotics and hormones. This extends on the enormous success of
PC’s “Free From” chicken, pork and beef meats. The eight barbecuestyle, succulent burgers are vacuum packed in a wax-free carton, with a
photo of one of the dedicated “Free From” producers on the front panel.
Jury comments: “Use of old-school typewriter fonts an engaging way to
tell the product’s story…design gives the feeling of responsibly-sourced
food…good communication of attributes…outstanding texture, rich
beefy taste...like the individual wrapped burgers…can easily tell that a
lot of thought, love and care went into this product development.”

Debi Lilly Savoy Candle
Product description: Debi Lilly is a design expert with a faithful following. The line features intoxicating scents, like bamboo leaves and
a blend of tangerine and mango, well above the industry standard for
fragrance. Wrapped in a two-tone gift box, with a beautiful satiny bow.
The sophisticated design was inspired by the candles in Manhattan’s
Plaza Hotel.
Jury comments: “Elegant packaging…uniquely simple and fresh…wonderful aroma…rare to ﬁnd candles that refresh without overpowering…
the scents are original…powerful but delicate at the same time…able to
ﬁt into any décor…perfect for gift-giving as is…beautiful candle that’s
affordable and available in a supermarket—great value.”

Safeway Tuna, 170 g
Product description: Flaky or chunked canned skipjack tuna, caught
using sustainable methods. While responsibly caught, these products
are also affordably priced, less than half the cost of the national brand.
Safeway is excited to be collaborating with the non-proﬁt Earth Island
Institute in this important initiative.
Jury comments: “Very nice packaging…responsibly caught designation is innovative for this category in private label…simple and effective marketing strategy…high quality…very tasty...delicate ﬂakes…nice
colour and texture…as good as anything else in a can…terriﬁc bargain
for quality at this price…bonus points for promoting public awareness of
marine stewardship.”
