CANADIAN ONLINE BEHAVIOUR
In a recent study conducted by PwC, the behaviours and preferences of Canadian shoppers was surveyed,
as well as their expectations when they visit their favourite retailers.
The 2016 Total Retail Report highlights the following Canadian shopping trends:

51% of respondents research
grocery items in-store.
38% research furniture and
homeware, and 36% visit the
store to research clothing
and footwear.

82% purchase do-it-yourself/
home improvement products in-store. 72% purchase
furniture and homeware. And
71% visit the store to purchase
household appliances.

40% of consumers under the
age of 34 say that interactions
with their favourite brands
through social media have
driven them to respect and
value those brands more

66% research
consumer
electronics and
computers online.
63% research
books, music,
movies and video
games, and 53%
go online to research household
appliances.

ONLINE CONNECTING CONSUMERS AND BRANDS
InsightsWest has determined in a recent study that social
media activity in Canada is still steadily on the rise. However,
websites are still the most common way for Canadians to
interact with businesses online.
