SENSUAL AND WARM WITH ITS TOUCH OF ART DECO AND INSPIRED BY A SWINGING SIXTIES LONDON STYLE, THIS BOUDOIR FOR WOMEN OPENED IN MAY 2009. FOR THE OWNER, KENYA CRETEGNY, THIS ACCOMPLISHMENT IS A DREAM COME TRUE. Apartment C She is a multi-disciplinarian: a fashion designer and a TV hostess, and now the owner of a lingerie boutique, Kenya Cretegny is a Michigan-born London resident. In a space of 1076 ft2, she conceived two universes of gold and black, a salon and a library with fitting rooms. In the salon, two reclining chairs straight out of the 60’s stand alongside a Louis XV armoire. An eclectic selection of fragrances and products, coming straight from Paris, include a wide choice of lace lingerie, silk loungewear items, and a carefully selected assortment of perfumes and jewelry. In the back, the library gathers vintage novels, fashion and sexy - books but most of all a unique piece of furniture: a bar from the thirties where customers can gather for a drink starting at 1:00 p.m. everyday. Here’s where the boutique placed its most eccentric touch: twinkling luminous pigeons hanging from the ceiling! The real concept behind Apartment C is to add a touch of sensuality in women’s lives, something that is becoming more absent with time in everyday life, according to Kenya. She also wanted to give a chance to young talents from lingerie and loungewear design, interior decoration, jewelry design or art. In fact, the basement area recently became a pop-up gallery that will welcome artistic exhibitions, events and much more. The lingerie brands on sale include VPL, The Lake and Stars, Letters of Marque, Miss Mandalay, Elise Acoutourier, Araks, Guia la Bruna, Made by Niki, Eco Boudoir, Kirsty Doyle, Bulb, Wundervoll, Fred and Ginger. This season, the store has added the brands Clare Tough, Bryce D’Anice Aime, Wunderwoll and Hannah Marshall to their selection. Apartment C – London – UK
