Newer notables WACOAL CHINA CONTINUES ITS RETAIL- ING EXPANSION WITH THE CREATION OF A FLAGSHIP STORE IN THE SHANGHAI PUDONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THE SALUTE STORE, EXCLUSIVELY DEDICATED TO THE WACOAL CHINA SALUTE LINE, HAS BECOME THE LINGERIE SHOPPING POINT FOR WORLD TRAVELLERS IN ASIA. Salute In December 2010, the Shanghai airport terminal welcomed Wacoal China’s latest retailing addition, a store whose ambiance and décor have created a luxurious shopping cavern within the international airport concourse. A space dedicated to Salute’s brand philosophy, a liberation of women from a single style and the encouragement to experience the diversity of luxury by constantly reinventing themselves. Indeed the store reflects Salute’s promotional creed: “women’s aesthetic intuition”. Right from the window displays, the setting promises romance and creativity, with a decoration of red rose petals elevating the outlook of the lingerie products on display. Inside, the three key colors for lingerie, red, black and white, reinterpret the product offer and décor. The products are presented on racks and metallic blocks around the store. The mild and warm overhead lighting is topped by a big crystal and pearl chandelier placed in the middle of the store, reflecting the light on the floor tiles. Although the product offer is exclusively concentrated on the Salute brand, there is a wide array of different undergarments offered, including bra and panty sets, camisoles, nightgowns and robes, garters and girdles. Also, among the store’s benefits for best customers, the brand has launched the Salute Club, a membership system where top customers get a royal discount card to keep shoppers loyal. Among the other existing Wacoal stores, there is one in the Joy City Shopping Mall in Beijing.
