Interview A new development strategy for Intimamoda The Italian group Intimamoda is looking toward growth and renovation. Aiming to increase the visibility of its brands, Intimamoda is undergoing an exciting three year development strategy. Intima Asia spoke to Marco Franciosi, President of Intimamoda who explained the new strategy to us in detail. Founded in 1972, over the years Intimamoda has grown consistently in terms of turnover and structure. Significantly, despite unfavorable market conditions Intimamoda ended 2007 with a major turnover, totaling Euro 45 million. This development was founded on entrepreneurial management that always looks towards innovation and welcomes new business opportunities. Today Intimamoda is headed towards new growth possibilities. In 2008 a collaboration agreement was signed with the Milanese consultancy firm Pambianco to carry out a three-year development plan to further increase Intimamoda’s turnover and give its brands even greater visibility. What do you intend to achieve through this new development strategy? MARCO FRANCIOSI We commissioned Pambianco to undertake a study analyzing the company’s positioning in relation to the market and consumer targets. On this basis we created an industrial plan with two goals. Firstly to increase turnover by 30% in 3 years and secondly, to boost the brands’ visibility in relation to their reference targets. We aim to achieve the latter through company restructuring and strong investments in consumer communication, including exposure on targeted women’s magazines. In the first year we will focus on Italy then expand our development program abroad as well.
