Talent Anna Paola Papaconstantinou Born in the United States to a Greek father and a Mexican mother, and raised in Europe, Anna Paola Constantino’s very diverse cultural heritage has inspired her unique and visionary fashion style. After studying psychology, she enrolled in the famous Marangoni Institute and has then shared her time between Milan and London. It was while training to become a fashion designer that Anna Paola had the chance of collaborating with some renown fashion houses, including Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chatalyan, before launching her very own beachwear brand called Paolita. A collection of bathing suits and intriguing items, the London-based brand is widely inspired by Anna Paola’s extensive travels and inner sense of creativity. Paolita’s first SS2011 collection presents a beautiful array of pieces, where fantasy blends with colorful prints and innovative cuts and shapes. The “Floreana” collection embraces a maritime theme with colored stripes, and vintage cuts while the “Voyage” collection is an assortment of prints and intricate details inspired by the discoveries of the world’s greatest historical explorers setting sail for adventures, alongside artists, scientists and astronomers. For Anna Paola, “Clothing is the costume with which we choose to act-out our part, to define our character. I like the idea of enabling or embellishing someone’s ‘fantasy’ and so my passion lies in dressing the “character”. This citizen of the world designer has done just that, with crafted good taste and visual enticement.
