two sides of a same coin, two complementary
not influenced by society’s laws. She knows what she wants and what fits her best, what colors match. She is also aware of her body and isn’t afraid of putting it on display. Despite the current restrictions of the market situation, the contemporary woman wants slits, transparency and low-cut cleavages.

What place should lingerie occupy in women’s wardrobe?
Our icons are naturally elegant women with an acute sense of taste and femininity. Our muses are the divas of the 50’s and 60’s, the golden years of fashion houses immersed by stylistic institutions that have forever changed the feminine figure. Women back then knew how to be refine and seductive at any given time, even at home, a rare virtue that lost itself with time.
What part does lingerie play in the Frankie Morello vision?
A privileged place: women should choose lingerie with the same care as ready-towear, she should allow herself fun, colored models. Over or under, at home or to go out, for others but for herself above all, lingerie, as for ready-to-wear clothes, should always be beautiful, that will please you and put your in a good mood.
Any predictions for organic materials? How involved are you in the protection of the environment?
A part almost identical to the ready-to-wear one, as we consider that the two sectors are both sides of a same coin, two complementary, almost interchangeable worlds. There’s a good reason why our lingerie line is called “Sexywear” and not “Underwear”. With bright colors and stitch finishings, the Frankie Morello lingerie line isn’t thought out to be hidden but to be displayed. At the same time, the ready to wear collection often borrows shapes and structures from the lingerie world. The slacks have underwear inspired shapes, the corsets are to be worn over tee-
We are environmental and animal rights activists. We make our activist statements with phrases on our models. We are among the few to really get involved in the cause. We don’t use fur, polluting dyes and our production doesn’t call on child labor. For the men and women lingerie, some of our sets are made with organic fabrics.
How do you explain your success as designers and businessmen?
We attribute our success to our capacity to look at fashion with new eyes compared to those who have been trained and have always worked within this world. The fact that we closely follow every step of the production also brought us closer to the managing aspect which took us beyond the creative part of the work….Even now we have a direct rapport with the stores, to test the real market responses to our collections.
