Barbara’s New Beginnings On May 15th 2009 Barbara Gilbert unveiled a new store in Zionsville and judging by the affluence since its opening it seems that’s just what the quaint Indiana town was waiting for! Barbara, who won the prize for Best Personalized Service at the 2005 Best Shop Awards, runs a successful boutique in Ft. Wayne which was recently enlarged to 4200 ft2 and counts 12 members of staff; serving the entire region, Barbara noticed that many of her clients came from Zionsville, a good two hours drive, to take advantage of the store’s expert bra fitters and the wide range of quality intimate apparel. And so her new project began to take shape. The store has the distinctive Barbara’s New Beginnings’ style with its delightful pink walls and wooden flooring. All the items are laid out on wooden tables or hanging on the sales floor while customers will be assisted by three expert bra fitters. The two fitting rooms are comfortable and welcoming with seating both inside and outside as well as having antique pink chandeliers. Collections available include high-end corsetry, nightwear and swimwear all year round with brands such as Anita, Freya, Spanx, Panache, Grenier and Le Mystere; and of course a good selection of prosthetic bras, cammies for after surgery and swimsuits with pockets for mastectomies.
