Launching Nicole Miller’s swimwear launch Nicole Miller has signed a new strategic licensing arrangement with Christina America, a division for the Swim Expert Alliance, for the manufacture and distribution of swimwear under the Nicole Miller Collection and Nicole by Nicole Miller brand names. The launch, scheduled for resort 2009, will cover over 30 nations worldwide including the US, Canada, Mexico, China, Russia, the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Hong Kong. The new agreement combines the unique creative perspective and distinct brand image of Nicole Miller with Christina America, one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of swimwear. “I feel that too often great looking swimwear prints are offered only as bikinis,” Miller said. “My idea is to offer more strong prints in tankini and one-piece styles. Just as we do with dresses and sportswear I will focus on looks and ideas that flatter a woman’s body”. “Nicole Miller’s design sensibility naturally transitions into swimwear” says Kathy Van Ness, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of SEA, “We see a tremendous opportunity working with Nicole to bring her aesthetic to swimwear. The launch comes after two years of intensive research and development which showed that more and more women are participating in sports and not only do they want to look good when they do, but they also want to feel good. The breasts have to absorb a lot of shock during sports and breast bounce affects all women, whatever their breast size. However breast bounce is different depending on the sport which is why Van de Velde has developed an ingenious three-tier system: zen, energy and action. Each one is tailored to a number of sports that produce similar breast bounce. The different bras in each level are optimally designed to cope with the specific bounce intensity. While meeting strict technical criteria Marie Jo Intense is also luxurious and hip in its design with a fashionable décolleté, polished decorative elements and stitching in trendy tints.
