This event symbolizes the beginning of the next stage of the works, starting the construction of the parvis, which will be the centrepiece of the new layout. Covering the docks above the current underground passage, the new station will be placed 150m West from the current one, which will be demolished at the end of the construction. Widely made of glass, convenient and comfortable, it will be build on three floors linked by elevators and escalators. The parvis, created for the Epa SeineArche by Ingérop and TGT-Igrec Ingénierie, will make the link between the Provinces Françaises district, at the south and the campus of the university of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, at the north, opening it up on its environment. The new Nanterre-Université station will associate all the usual transportations, train, RER, bus, bicycle and eventually, tramway with the extension of the line 1. Its creation is the occasion for the town planner to rethink a new district centre: a large real estate complex of 130 000 m² over 3.6 hectares of land which is currently being defined. This new living centre will provide - through its arrangement and its programs - all the conditions to promote diversity. Many of you came to discover the future NanterreUniversité station project in 2009. To celebrate the sealing of the foundation stone of the parvis, La Maison du Projet is welcoming a new exhibition. Besides NanterreUniversité station, other spectacular works conducted by partners of the project will be presented.
