/14 Focus on since 2008, the site of le Faisceau has been the subject of special attentions. it is indeed the cornerstone of a large scale study project for a strategic planning. Le Faisceau is a strategic urban strip including SaintLazare’s rail network, the D914 Secondary Road and the surrounding territories. It appears as a key place, a laboratory for Grand Paris where a new large scale link is to be created. This hundred hectares located in the middle of Paris West side’s urban development will federate major projects: the future Groues station, the Phare tower, the new Nanterre-Université station, the development of the university centre of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, Eole, the new Paris-Normandie railway… under study Early 2008, the Etablissement Public d’Aménagement Seine-Arche launched an international call for tender in order to nominate the town planners and landscape designers who will work on the definition of Le Faisceau. Among the 44 teams who applied, 7 have been allowed to present their project and 3 have been selected: KCAP, Obras and Alexandre Chemetoff. From April 2009 to March 2010, they have been working on urban orientation inside this perimeter. Their goal? To get over the opposition between local and metropolitan expectations. All along the study, meaningful exchanges occurred during the seminaries, workshops and steering committees in which every partner of the study got very implicated (municipality of Nanterre, Conseil général des Hauts-de-Seine, DREIF, DDE 92, DIRIF, Conseil régional d’Île-de-France, RFF, SNCF, CAUE 92, Agence TGT, Agence Chavannes, and associations from Nanterre).
