Diane-Laure Arjaliès
This dissertation focuses on “SRI Mainstreaming,” a phenomenon that appeared in the 2000s that refers to the progressive and massive penetration of criteria for socially responsible investment (SRI) in conventional investment funds (also called mainstream funds). In particular, Diane-Laure Arjaliès identifies the reasons for the emergence of such a change and analyzes its impact on the practices of asset managers. For this purpose, she used Diane-Laure Arjaliès a three-year (2006-2009) longitudinal case study of a French asset management company, which she conducted as an SRI analyst. The dissertation comprises three articles that analyze 1) the origins of the SRI movement, 2) how the practices of asset management firms have changed in response to SRI Mainstreaming, and 3) why practices have transformed in different ways in respect to fixed-income investment and equity investment. Diane-Laure Arjaliès is Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Management Control at HEC Paris. A graduate of ESSEC Business School, she holds a master’s degree in Management and Organizational Dynamics (University Paris West Nanterre, ESCP Europe, Ecole des Mines de Paris, Ecole Polytechnique, and ESSEC Business School) and a PhD in Management Science from University Paris West Nanterre and ESSEC Business School.

Alain Bloch, Nicolas Kachaner, and Sophie Mignon (Pearson - Collection Village Mondial, January 2012) Why, in times of crisis, do family businesses show much greater strength than other groups? Frugality, flexibility, and reliability are the keys the authors bring to light thanks to an indepth study conducted jointly by HEC Paris, Ecole Polytechnique, and BCG. And these lessons apply to any company looking for resilience and sustainability. Beyond this observation, La stratégie du propriétaire provides leaders and managers with practical solutions for weathering turbulent times.
