How about talking scraptherapy?
Whether it is a refuge against anxiety or a trigger of serenity, scrapbooking,
by combining photo and text, is a great tool to relieve our overflows of
emotions. To take stock, recharge our batteries or go through rough
times, does scrapbooking have the capacity to soothe our minds?
by Catherine Labeeu
Art therapy, you certainly
have already heard
of it. This discipline
appeals to artistic
creation activities
for psychotherapy
purposes. And what if
the act of scrapping was
part in this line?
Obviously, we are
neither doctors, nor
therapists. That is why
we will use the term
scraptherapy, because
it is a most evocative
word, but without trying
to substitute ourselves
to health professionals!
So, for you, what are
those pages « which are
good for us »?
Supplies: patterned paper (4h37,
My Mind's Eye), stamps (Aladine,
Artemio), alphabet (American
Crafts), inks (Kesi'Art, Ranger,
Versafine), masking tape

Retour au calme (Back to calmness)

Scraptherapy, some
very personal definitions
« This is a chance to dream, a door
opening out on to imagination », « relieve
one's melancholy spleen », « spend some
time to take stock », « have fun, take time
for oneself ». Those are the terms used by
the Design Team to define scraptherapy.

Ana goes a step further and notes that
scrapping helped her to discern colors
differently, to the point of idolizing on
them now! But besides the creation
process itself, scraptherapy allows you
to overcome severe events that some-
times disrupt a whole life. For Catherine
and Dan, scrapping pictures of their lost
loved ones helped them move forward
on the path of mourning, to move from
one phase of anger to one of sadness
and finally to that of acceptance.
