It's your choice! One page, three options by Elodie Touzet Option 1 You want a soft layout, radiant and with an elaborate background but you have little time and do not feel a great «splodger» at heart? Start from a printed background that is quite light, on which you will spread out gesso in a layer which is irregular and pushed to one side on purpose. Be a little more generous in size on the side where your layout will be stuck on. Once the gesso is dry, dab a little text with gray ink, sparingly, only where you spread the gesso. The page setting which is framing the photo is worked in the shape of a cross so as to visually lengthen the space around the image upwards and to the right. The title is pasted straddling the picture and is completed by a stamp in black ink to set off the horizontal effect of the page setting. An assortment of embellishments in a Clustering style is dressing the upper right corner of the layout, intentionally left blank. You w ill need: patterned paper (Lily Bee Design, Studio Calico, Little Yellow Bicycle, Pink Paislee), stamps (Universcrap, Ali Edwards, Studio Calico, American Crafts), alphabets (Fancy Pants, American Crafts, Basic Grey), punch (EK Success), embroideries (Dame de Kit), chipboards (Basic Grey), Versafine ink (Tsukineko), acrylic paint (Pébéo), doily, American tags Option 2 Like color and want to boost your layout while "splodging" your background a little more? Over your gesso layer, make a gradation in the watercolors with Gelatos. Once your background is dry, dab each colored area with different patterns and tone on tone ink to highlight the "rainbow" effect. For a more homogeneous set, make spots with a pipette on the various items: scraps of paper, gesso, photo and embellishments.
