Let’s talk layouts - Issue #2 - March 2014 - (Page 10)
It's your choice!
One layout, three options
by Ula Kopciewska
Option 1
You want to create a layout with two small photos, a graph layout, in an
uncluttered freestyle, both soft and with contrast and you have not much time?
For a perfect harmony, take inspiration from the colors on your photos. Here,
the beige hints at the sand, turquoise for the sea, some touches of red, black
and light brown refer to the characters. On the background patterned paper,
stick two strips of paper - here a red striped one - and some tracing paper.
Next stick a big rectangle of white watercolor paper on which you make spots
of turquoise blue watercolor. Then, pile up several cut papers, your photos
and stick on the title. Add some thread and wooden embellishments, then the
blue binder clip and then draw a frame in the red pen. To finish off, stamp two
arrows and a date in the black ink.
