A winter... with energising colors Who said that winter was a sad season ? Not our creative team in any case, as they scrapbook their winter photos in full color. Here are some layouts bursting with energy to keep us going until the nice days. by Nina Ostermann, Gaëlle Fauglas, Valérie Ndow, Bénédicte Raphalen, Mylen Chartier, Marianne Sterchi and Nelly Togbé 1897 - 1898: A Winter in black on white In 1896, the discovery of gold nuggets in the auriferous sands of the river Klondike, at its confluence with the river Yukon, in the far west of Canada, is no exception to the rule: immediately the miners and speculators set off and arrived in time, well-equipped, to distribute all the concessions, in the territory which is so cold that you could not even count on 100 days per year without a freeze! It was in mid-July of 1897 that the big rush happened, by sea, overland, the latter popularised by the unforgettable film of Charlie Chaplin "The Gold Rush" in 1925... Half of them turned back! The slope of the Chilkoot pass was forever etched in their minds, a long black snake on the white snow. The survivors only had to do a further 2400 kms to discover, on arriving, that all the concessions had been granted the previous year to the first ones who arrived at Dawson City!
