Let’s talk layouts - Issue #2 - March 2014 - (Page 3)
Editor's note
A new step for
Histoires de Pages !
Ah...! If only Théophraste Renaudot had
known the Internet! He who, in 1631,
created the first French newspaper - La
Gazette - largely focused on foreign news,
which quickly became THE reference
newspaper in the whole world! La Gazette
disappeared in 1915, victim of the social
changes entailed by World War I while
other forms of press appeared...
Winter life
by Nina Ostermann
«
Our adorable little Jonna appreciates the arrival of winter
and loves to play outside in the garden. This picture is
one of my favorites: I was doing a series of photos while
she was playing and when she realized she was being
photographed, she began to smile this way
».
To bring out the wooden imitation background , Nina matted it with white cardstock, then with a pink background.
To reinforce this "framing" look she so much appreciates,
she sewed the three layers and turned up the edges. All
embellishments and journaling are grouped on the left side
and at the bottom of the layout. The picture and title are
prominently on the visual Z way to focalize the eye without
it being distracted by all the little details.
Materials : papers (Crate Paper, American Crafts), alphabets
(American Crafts), stickers (Crate Paper), journaling strips (Pink
Paislee), wooden embellishments (Studio Calico, Freckled Fawn),
button, brad, pin and fancy pearl (Pebbles), bow and frame (Crate
Paper), white acrylic paint, die (Silhouette Cameo), doily, sewing
machine
Nothing at all in common with the fantastic
changes arisen since the appearance
of the Internet, the Web, soon followed
by social networks! It makes one dizzy
to realize that people are like so many
butterflies gathering nectar in all media,
and going more and more instinctively
to look for their information on the Net,
because it is easily at hand!
However, it is thanks to this fantastic
transformation that Histoires de Pages Let's Talk layouts, today, can be read in
Australia as well as in Canada, Mexico,
the United States, Japan, all over Europe
and everywhere in the world! Thank
you for your welcome worldwide! It
encourages us to persevere in bringing
you an even more beautiful, richer
magazine, quite a change of scenery,
full of whim, poetry and enthusiasm. We
have included enlarged layouts so that
you can see the slightest detail in this
new version of 180 pages, and videos,
which are being shot right now, will be
available with the next issue!
Enjoy !!!
