Maitland Siphon Rehabilitation |

"The Bureau of Reclamation owns the Maitland Siphon, a reinforced
concrete pipe inverted siphon that conveys water under an
intermittently ﬂowing creek. The Northern Water Conservancy
District identiﬁed higher than normal ﬂows in the drainage
and concerning deﬁciencies. We veriﬁed that the siphon was
structurally compromised, most likely from external overloading.
We then performed an alternatives analysis and recommended a
slipline rehabilitation with a steel liner, which extended the service
life by 70 years while maintaining the original hydraulic capacity."

not been upgraded in many years. With a 25 percent
population growth expected in the next 20 years, and
new, stricter effluent limits for nutrients mandated
by the state, we were selected by the city to evaluate
its existing wastewater treatment infrastructure.
We performed plant compliance assistance, facility
evaluation, and facility planning, design, and
construction phase engineering services."
