on the U.S. Gulf Coast; the explosion in Beirut, Lebanon; as
well as a continued response to COVID-19 pandemic, which
impacts every disaster that occurs.
Airlink started the year supporting needs in Asia in
February; now the focus is on hard-hit areas of Africa, Latin
America and the Caribbean. Airlink has secured airlift for over
7.2M pieces of PPE and other critical medical supplies. Overall,
Airlink has assisted 32 NGOs thanks to the partnership of 17
air carriers and logistics partners, resulting in 171 tons of aid
and 192 responders provided airlift for free/significant savings.
One result is US$1.78M in transportation costs savings to
relief organizations, which they can put back into responses.
Annually, Airlink's relief partners' work together reaches
approximately 2 million people across the globe.
The ISTAT Foundation will award an additional
US$125,000 in humanitarian grants to charities worldwide in
October 2020.

COVID-19 Relief Grants
In response to the COVID-10 pandemic, ISTAT committed,
by way of the ISTAT Foundation, US$500,000 to global
COVID-19 relief in May.

"I was honored to present the check to the Foundation
on members' behalf earlier this year, and it is used in ways
that truly will make a difference," said ISTAT President Gerry
Butler. "However, in times such as these, it is our privilege
and responsibility as an organization to step up and provide
additional support in the global initiative against COVID-19."
