Jetrader: What is the most
challenging part of your profession?
JW: The aviation industry is a very
capital-intense business and sensitive
to any crisis, just as COVID-19 has
demonstrated. At the same time, the
initiatives for the decarbonization of
aviation have further progressed and
will continue to do so, requiring airlines
and lessors to invest in the latest
technology aircraft. Supporting our
clients to overcome these challenges
has been very rewarding.
Jetrader: Who has had the greatest
influence on your career?
JW: I cannot think of any particular
individual. However, throughout my

Jetrader: What do you like most
about the aviation industry?
Joel Wagner (JW): It is certainly
the people and the passion we
share about the industry. Our
motivation is very simple: We all try
to bring people all around the world
together, to propel trade and develop
understanding of different cultures.
But as things work differently around

professional career, I've had the honor
to learn from co-workers, not least
from my own team at Skytech-AIC.
Jetrader: What was your first job?
JW: At the age of 12, I started to work
as a paper boy, but it was always clear
to me from this very young age that
there was a passion for the aviation
industry. It has been a decision I so far
have never regretted.
