Cotham, chairman of the board of
trustees of the MWP, put it, " Women
were equaling and exceeding men's
accomplishments in aviation but not
necessarily receiving recognition.
This museum is a testament to
those achievements. " The MWP
is staffed by volunteers who are
passionate about the stories of
women in aviation, as supported by
the history and collaboration of the
99s, an international organization of
woman pilots established in 1929
by 99 licensed woman pilots. The
membership was international from
the beginning, and Amelia Earhart was
elected the first president.

Not to be missed at the MWP,
located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,
are some of the personal effects of
Amelia Earhart, the display of women's
military uniforms, the flight simulator,
the live air traffic control room, the
flight planning center, the aviation
library and the new exhibit on airshow
performers. Additionally, the Peggy
Nagy Youth Education Center offers
experiences and projects for children
to have their first interactions with the
world of aviation.
How has the MWP benefited from
the ISTAT Foundation grant?
In addition to the maintenance of the
museum and addition of exhibits,
the ISTAT Foundation grant funded
development of 10 educational modules
accessible to the public at the MWP
website. The modules are hosted
by accomplished women aviators
from around the world, covering the
basic topics of airspace, weather,
communication technology and
aerospace, as well as the emerging
topics of hybrid-electric commuter
aircraft, alternative eco-friendly fuels
and urban aerial mobility. The goal
of the modules is to introduce youth
and adults alike to the different facets
of aviation, while featuring female
role models within the industry to
better inspire young women. With air
service demand forecast to double
by 2037, the commercial aviation
industry will require a large, diverse
and skilled talent pool from which
to draw and closing the gender gap
is a critical factor in meeting that
demand. ISTAT members are invited

The Cipsela Corporation
Why was Cipsela founded?
Cipsela (Creative and Innovative
Programs for Space Education,
Launch, and Aviation) was founded
to inspire a new generation that Latin
America needs to take advantage of
the opportunities that the aviation and
aerospace sectors present globally.
We help students at different levels
to learn and improve their skills and
knowledge in STEAM areas (science,
technology, engineering, arts and
mathematics) using the " learning by
doing " methodology.
How has support from the ISTAT
Foundation grant helped?
The ISTAT Foundation grant was
essential to strengthen our mission. We
were able to launch a course focused
entirely on aviation with this grant. The
