Jetrader: As CEO, how do you define
success for VivaAerobus?
JCZ: By fulfilling our vision every day:
to be the lowest cost, most preferred,
most fun and most profitable airline in
the Americas.
Jetrader: Given the strong rebound
of VivaAerobus, what are the main
challenges you face?
JCZ: To continue innovating in order
to provide the best buying and flying
experience to our passengers, while
providing the best tools to our frontline
staff to do their job in a safe,
reliable and fun way.

Jetrader: Can you talk about
VivaAerobus' environmental
focus and the potential solutions
you are pursuing? What are your
targets to introduce sustainable
aviation fuels (SAFs) or other
environmental initiatives?
JCZ: We have a strong environmental,
social and governance agenda, which
includes our environmental culture,
" The Future is Green. " We are by far
the greenest airline in Mexico. We
have defined clear metrics for the
next five years and are in constant
discussion with our OEMs (Airbus and
Pratt & Whitney). SAF will continue to
evolve very quickly, and more with the
potential government support that will
enable SAFs to be more accessible for
airlines. Not only are SAFs part of our
discussions, but many other initiatives
such as carbon offsetting initiatives,
recycling, and getting all of your
passengers and staff engaged on this
important pledge.
Jetrader: For young people
considering going into aviation,
what thoughts or advice would
you give them for how to approach
their careers?
JCZ: Buckle up! It is such a great
industry with a very challenging
environment both on external factors
and strong competition dynamics. It
is traditionally a low-margin industry,
which requires the very best and
agile decision making, frugal cost
management and constant innovation.
Most importantly, it has such a great
purpose and contribution to our
economies and quality of life.
Jetrader: Are there any final words
of wisdom you'd like to share?
JCZ: Stay healthy, stay positive and
stay hungry!
