The international crisis caused
by the Russian invasion of Ukraine
has affected some of the 777-300ER
fleet, with around 40 aircraft either
located inside Russia or leased to
Russian operators that are impacted
by sanctions. However, this represents
a relatively small percentage of the
overall fleet.
Boeing launched the third generation
of the 777 in 2013 to replace the
777-300ER. The two new variants,
the 777-8 and 777-9, will feature
new GE9X engines and extensive
use of carbon fiber in the wings (and
folding wingtips) while using traditional
aluminum in the fuselage and wingbox.

million per month. Now, typical lease
rates for used 777-300ERs are in the
range of US$300,000 to US$500,000
per month.
