sincerely hope you and your
families are doing well and are
enjoying your season. Since
my last note, ISTAT hosted a
spectacular EMEA conference
in Marrakech in September.
Over 1,200 delegates traveled
to Morocco for a truly memorable
experience. Our ISTAT EMEA events
have historically been centered in
Europe, so I was delighted that we
were able to host an event of this size
on the incredible continent of Africa.
I could not think of a more fitting
place than the vibrant and lovely city
of Marrakech.
With the crosscurrents continuing
to surround our industry, it was a great
time to visit with clients, customers
and contacts and hear from various
panels of experts to catch up on what
is happening and to see where we are
headed. Our Platinum Sponsor, ABL

As many of you know, ISTAT has
spent a great deal of time and effort
nurturing the next generation of
leaders in our industry. As part of that
commitment, ISTAT developed the
Professional Development Program
(PDP), in association with PwC. PDP
is a truly unique opportunity for young
professionals in our industry to engage
in a cutting-edge learning program
with modules focused on a variety
of topics relating to the commercial
aircraft trading and finance world.
The course is run by Nils Hallerstom
with the assistance of Dick Forsberg
and an elite faculty of industry
veterans from around the world. We
also receive significant support from
Boeing on the North American course
and Airbus on the EMEA course, with
both OEMs providing access and
space for modules to be taught at their
respective manufacturing facilities.
This gives our students a truly unique
educational experience.
Back in April 2022, we opened our
second EMEA PDP course. Classes
were held in Dublin and Toulouse and
culminated in the final session and
exam in Marrakech. The 2022-2023
Americas course is already underway
(with classes in New York, Chicago
and Seattle) with the 2023 EMEA PDP
course commencing in April 2023.
ISTAT PDP provides a tremendous
opportunity for young professionals to
meet with their contemporaries and
create a network that will last their
entire careers. More broadly, the PDP
classes present an unparalleled forum
for professionals to gain insight and
knowledge into the finer points of our
ISTAT Jetrader - Winter 2022
