The funding is provided by a blend of named
scholarships provided by donors and an annual
ISTAT stipend. In 2024, the Foundation awarded 44
scholarships with a total value of over US$450,000.

courses are available from both ERAU
and Purdue University and presented
as part of their graduate-level
curriculum programs for their MSc in
aviation finance and MBA in aviation
management degree programs.
The six credit hour courses cover
industry focused topics including:
* Airline aircraft selection
* Aircraft leasing
* Aviation legal framework
* Aircraft funding
* Risk management
* Lease negotiation
* Transaction modeling
* Maintenance reserves
To date, over 187 students
from 40 different nationalities have
completed the ISTAT U program since
2015 and have gone on to develop
careers in ISTAT member companies
around the industry.
The recent addition of Purdue
University to the ISTAT U program
is only the start of the Foundation
Education Committee's strategic
objective to bring new opportunities for
students and ISTAT member companies
with the expansion of the ISTAT U
program other universities and other
regions around the world. Over the
next two years, the ISTAT Foundation
Education Committee is planning to
onboard two additional high-quality
universities, targeting one in Europe
and one in Asia.
The Grants Program is specifically
designed to target and assist aviationrelated,
nongovernmental, not-for-profit
organizations worldwide that contribute
to the advancement of commercial
aviation. The recipients, which include

museums, youth associations and
educational institutions, work to create
awareness of and make aviation
accessible to students and children. In
2024, we provided over US$160K to
support organizations advancing the
commercial aviation industry.

We Need You!
The Foundation is run by ISTAT
member volunteers and functions
through committees for scholarships,
education, grants and internship/
mentoring. We engage with the
university with our ambassador
program under which an ISTAT
member is serving as the liaison
between the scholarship program and
the school. We urge ISTAT members
who may have a nexus with a college
or university that focuses on aviationoriented
programs to bring the school
to the attention of the Scholarship
Committee. Please get in touch with
