Introducing nxtbook4
As a valued partner of Nxtbook Media, we want to make you aware of the new version of our replica
platform, its capabilities, upgrades and the opportunity to transition to this innovative iteration of our core
product.
As you are most likely aware, our current platform is built in Flash. While Flash is still a leader in the industry
for websites, video and online gaming, some are concerned about its vulnerabilities. For those who are
concerned, we are here to put those apprehensions to rest with our roll-out of the fully HTML based
nxtbook4.
We've had a basic version of the nxtbook4 platform activated for a few months as a backup in case a
browser does not have flash installed. During this time, we have built a more customizable foundation and
now feel fully confident in releasing this product as a stand alone offering to all our current clients.
An important piece to note before considering the switch is that not each and every feature is available in
nxtbook4, as it was in nxtbook3 (our Flash platform). This is because it takes time to replicate over 14 years
of innovative development. Furthermore, we are aiming to simplify the platform in order to enhance the
overall user experience and in turn drive higher readership. Moving forward, we'll continue to review all
of our nxtbook4 features and determine how we will be handling additions on a client-by-client basis. The
great thing is that our flash platform is still a very solid, stable platform and we have full faith in it's continued
capabilities should you have a feature that isn't currently available in nxtbook4.
By now you're probably questioning what your publication will look like in nxtbook4. We have the answer
for you. To see your project in nxtbook4, just add this extension to your url, ?device=nxthtml. As you look
at your publication in nxtbook4, it's important to note that there are upcoming upgrades to the toolbar.
This interface will undergo a change to the look of the more options and contents icons. We have done
a significant amount of research and testing to ensure that the functions of these new icons will be highly
recognizable to the general public and increase the intuitiveness of the platform.
All that said, is moving to nxtbook4 something you want to consider? If so, let's talk and get that transition
made. Should you choose to stay with nxtbook3, you're readers will continue to receive the most advanced
digital edition Flash platform on the market, with the support of nxtbook4 in case a reader doesn't have Flash
