decades. The book offers an opportunity to look at the legacy of OppenheimerFunds as

U.S. asset manager, with more than $1 trillion in assets.
A German immigrant who learned about financial markets in the challenging environment
of post-World War II, Max Oppenheimer founded a small brokerage firm in 1951. Through
many twists and turns, part of that firm - Oppenheimer & Co. - eventually became
OppenheimerFunds.
From its earliest days, Oppenheimer & Co. became known for its innovation. Oppenheimer
and his partners attracted colleagues who thought creatively and independently. They
found profitable opportunities, pioneering investment strategies, and new products
where others weren't looking. Their first mutual fund, the Oppenheimer Fund, offered
unprecedented features, and it's from the initial offering of this groundbreaking product on
April 30, 1959, that OppenheimerFunds dates its inception.
Max Oppenheimer and his partners demonstrated an entrepreneurial can-do spirit and
reliance on teamwork that still influence the firm's decision-making today. The principles of
strength in cooperation and mutual reliance are illustrated by the four-hands logo, which
has been part of the firm's identity since 1965.
