Giving Chrome the Green Light
After he had purchased a Lamborghini Gallardo, long-time customer of New Jersey’s Designer Wraps Marc Cavallo began toying with the idea of decking out his new ride in a full wrap. “We talked for several months about wrapping the new car in chrome, but it wasn’t until July of this year that he decided he was finally ready,” says Sean Tomlin, owner of Designer Wraps (designerwraps.com). Once they had completely dismantled the Lamborghini, four shop installers took seven days to wrap it in 30 yards of Avery Dennison’s SF100-843-S Conform Chrome: “The film doesn’t stretch more than 10 percent, so it was more di cult than a normal wrap job. You really have to treat it as a calendared film and take your time to do it right,” says Tomlin. A nice touch: The roof and door jams were wrapped in Avery Matte Black Supreme Wrapping Film. “Also, since we dismantled the entire car, we had to make sure we had processes in place to put everything back together properly.”
