X-Rite Announces 'Fundamentals of Color Training' Seminar Series X-Rite and its subsidiary Pantone have announced the Fundamentals of Color Training, a series of twoday seminars that will be held in 14 cities throughout North America this fall. Topics will include visual evaluations, communicating color specifications, color tolerances, and instrumentation. Attendees can register for the full seminar or for one individual session. The first day of each seminar is entitled "Fundamentals of Color and Appearance," while the second day will address "Fundamentals of Instrumentation and Quality Control." The 126-inch printer, which features a fabric loading and transportation system and an inline fixation unit and dryer, outputs soft signage and other textile applications at top speeds approaching 2500 square feet per hour. The GrandRIP+ platform offers color management features designed specifically for fabric printing; media and ink optimization; and the optional TextilePro suite for RGB workflow and pattern options. The partnership, says Caldera CEO Joseph Mergui in a release, is "creating bridges between processes that have not before spoken the same language." SGP HOSTS 2016 SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) has announced its annual Sustainability Conference for September 13 in Las Vegas, prior to SGIA Expo. Attendees of the all-day event will participate in roundtable discussions, follow peer-led case studies, and network with professionals across the print industry supply chain who place a priority on sustainable business practices. Attendees can register at 2016conference.sgppartnership.org. ASAP PRINTING ACQUIRED BY 4OVER 4over, an outsource print provider based in Glendale, California, has acquired ASAP Printing. With facilities in Utah, North Carolina, and Texas, ASAP's assets will give 4over a presence in the Southeast and Mountain States, says CEO Zarik Megerdichian in a release. The company now offers services from 16 locations in California, Ohio, Illinois, New Jersey, Utah, North Carolina, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Washington, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., and Canada, with an Atlanta facility coming soon. http://2016conference.sgppartnership.org
