HP Unveils End-to-End 3D-Printing System HP | hp.com Magic Launches Adhere6.0 Window Film MAGIC | magicinkjet.com Magic has introduced Adhere6.0, a 6-mil, removable window film featuring a high-gloss surface and a wet-apply silicone adhesive. Adhere6.0 is designed as an environmentally friendly alternative to vinyl. The company reports the material will not leave residue upon removal. It is printable with latex and UV inks, and is available in 50- and 54-in. widths. Also new: Hilite8.0 backlit fi lm, designed with a satin fi nish for graphics in restaurants, fitness centers, shopping malls, transit venues, and more. The material is recyclable and printable with latex and UV inks, with a bright white, anti-glare surface. Available in up to 60-in. widths. BIG PICTURE September 2016 Shimmerdisc Introduces Printable Sequin Display 48 SHIMMERDISC | shimmerdisc.com Shimmerdisc has revealed a UV-printable sequin display media for creating décor, retail displays, exhibit graphics, and more. According to the company, Shimmerdisc is delivered in two parts: a sequin sheet and an optically clear plastic module. The operator splits the artwork to be printed into 7.9 x 7.9-in. sections and reverse prints the images on the plastic module; then, the same artwork is printed on the sequin carrier. Next, the sequin sheet is placed over the plastic module via posts with barbs and pressed; the excess is peeled away, leaving the sequins hanging on the module. The media is modular, available in any size larger than 10.8 sq ft. Imaging requires the use of white ink. HP has revealed the Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solution, a multicomponent platform featuring the SmartStream 3D Build Manager and Command Centre, the Jet Fusion 3D Processing Station, and Jet Fusion 3D 3200 and 4200 printers. The system processes and prints at the voxel level (voxels are the 3D version of pixels), which, according to HP, increases users' ability to control and customize the fi nished product. Other possibilities include the ability to print with embedded intelligence and information, e.g., part sensors and tracking codes. The HP Jet Fusion 3D 3200 and 4200 printers can build parts measuring up to 16 x 12 x 16 in. with a max. resolution of 1200 dpi. The 3200 model builds up to 215 cu in./hr, while the 4200 builds up to 275 cu in./hr. Additional features for both models include thermal control at each layer, fusing and detailing agents, and in-printer quality checks reported via touch screen. Barberán Reveals Jetmaster Single-Pass Printer Series BARBERÁN | jetmasterseries.com Barberán has released the Jetmaster series of single-pass UV printers. The Jetmaster prints up to 6000 pieces/hr and is offered in models up to 6.2 ft wide. It prints on rigid media such as PVC and Coroplast, leveraging three droplet sizes and four gray levels for up to 360-dpi resolution. CMYK is standard; LcLmOV optional. The system also includes ColorGate Production Server. Sihl Changes Liner for PVC-Free Graphics SIHL | sihlinc.com Sihl is transitioning the synthetic liner for its SyntiSol and SyntiTec Easy Tack graphic media to a paper-based, PVC-free alternative. Both materials are designed to be tear-resistant and feature low-tack self-adhesives for bubblefree application and residue-free removal on glass and other smooth, flat surfaces, according to the company. 3529 SyntiSol offers a satin, low-glare fi nish and a water- and scratch-resistant coating. It is solvent- and UV-printable. 3539 SyntiTec features a matte coat and is printable with the following series: Canon imageProGraf, Epson Stylus Pro, HP Designjet T, HP Designjet Z, and HP PageWide XL.
