The 2017 SGIA Expo returns to New Orleans this fall after a record-breaking show
floor at the Vegas event last September. The expo was named one of the 50 Fastest
Growing Shows by Trade Show Executive magazine in February. "Packaging" was
last year's buzzword; what will be the biggest innovation on the boulevard this
year? A new way to produce textiles? Bigger, better 3D? Omnichannel automation?
Exhibitors want you to think bigger than square footage and media handling. The

Big Picture will announce the six winners of its second annual Women in Print
Awards at the Chairman's Reception the first night of the expo. On October 11,
show attendees will get the chance to network with and hear from female industry
innovators at SGIA's Women in Print Alliance Breakfast, keynoted by author Fawn
Germer, 7:30 a.m.; and at the Women in Print Winners Panel Discussion, 2:30 p.m.

'Learning Experiences'
at Print 17

NPES' Print 17 conference for the print, publishing, and
graphics communities is scheduled for September 10-14 in
Chicago. The 2017 event, held every three years, features a
new education session format that allows attendees to design
their own "learning experience" through a variety of
seminars, hands-on labs, the preshow Outlook 17 conference,
panel discussions, exhibitor presentations, and "The Learning
Experience Theater" presentations taking place on the show
floor. Topics include increasing ROI, packaging, marketing,
growth strategies, emerging technologies, and more.
In addition, a new "Distinguished Leader" speaker series
will feature prominent industry influencers, including Tod
Szewczyk, Leo Burnett's VP and director of emerging
technology and innovation, and Michael Chase, St. Joseph
Communications' chief marketing officer.

KERNOW COATINGS EXPANDS
Kernow Coatings has opened a new branch to support the company's growth in the
European market. Kernow Coatings Europe is now operating out of a new distribution center in Gent, Belgium, with a dedicated sales office and customer service
team. Kernow reports the new location will better serve the company's customer
base in Belgium, Holland, Northern Germany, Northern France, and more.

INDUSTRIAL INKJET
OPENS US OFFICE
Industrial Inkjet has launched a US subsidiary based in Golden, Colorado,
with the aim of offering its American customers more localized services.
Graham Vlcek will serve as the branch's president and will be filling the
operations team in the coming months, according to a release. The new
facility, located 40 minutes west of the Denver airport, will offer training and
client demonstrations.
