NEWS BIG PICTURE May 2018 Creative Commute Artwork in a frame hung on the wall? That's way too traditional for the nonprofit group Atlanta Celebrates Photography (ACP). Instead, ACP - with a mission to enrich the Atlanta arts community - chose to plaster the photographic artwork of local high school students on the interior of two 60-foot commuter train cars, in partnership with Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. The rolling art exhibit features students' photographs showcasing life in "Everyday Atlanta." ACP tapped SpeedPro Imaging of Greater Atlanta (speedprometroatlanta.com) for the project; SpeedPro also worked with ACP on a similar art installation inside train cars in 2015. SpeedPro output the graphics with an HP Latex 280 printer and laminated the prints with a Royal Sovereign RSC-1650C laminator. The 24-inchwide floor graphics running down the aisle of the two train cars were printed on Mactac Rebel 528R Removable Print Vinyl with Permacolor PermaFlex PF6315 Overlaminating Film. The graphics were removed following the scheduled week-long run of the exhibit. 23,000 The number of hours of TV watched by Generation X by the time they were 20, so they watched lots of ads and have a sensitive B.S. meter - it's difficult to advertise to them.
